[SPECIAL TOURS]politics in ancient rome (part one) The tour of this month is an evolution of the Ancient City tour, specially focused on the political aspects of the Roman society; together with the famous archaeological monuments, the tour stresses the political system and its changes from the Republican period to the Empire, trying to explain the unbelievable skill and solidity of the Roman ruling class as well as the many reasons the led the Empire to a maybe unavoidable crisis and then to its fall. The tour starts with the recently reorganized Capitoline Museum, where, together with the many other statues that will catch your interest, we will talk of the new Exedra hosting the bronze portraits of Marcus Aurelius and Constantine, but also the bronze Lex de Imperio Vespasianii (the Imperial law by Vespanian) and the Fasti consolari, a list of all the Romans holding public offices since the Monarchic Age.
